Programming Note:
During the show it was incorrectly stated that Azure began as a IaaS offering. Listener Carmen Crincoli set us straight on that:
“Your cloud guest got Azure history wrong. It started as pure PaaS, not IaaS. Isolation mechanism just happened to be VMs. The fact that it was pure PaaS actually hurt it. No one was ready for that in 2008.”
